There are 4 tiers in SSC CGL 2021 examination every year. In the first 2 tiers, students have to give a test through online mode; in the 3rd tier, a student has to give a pen-paper test, followed by a test or data entry test in tier 4th.

SSC CGL – Section Wise Distribution
Tier 1 is divided into 4 sections in the following pattern:
- English Reasoning Questions & Intelligence
- General Knowledge & Awareness
- Quantitative Aptitude
- English Comprehension
Tier 2 is also divided into 4 sections in the following pattern:
- Qualitative Abilities
- English Comprehension and English Language
- General Statistics
- General Studies
Tier 3 is a descriptive paper, and student can opt for either Hindi or English test.
Tier 4: The student has to give a test on a computer to test the testing and data entering skills along with the speed of the aspiring candidate.

Tier 2:

Tier 3:

Tier 4:
In tier 4, the skill test is conducted in 2 parts: DEST & CPT.
- DEST:
The aspiring students who apply for Tax Assistants need to sit for DEST. They have to type 8000 key depressions per hour on the computer. You will get 15 minutes for every 2000 depressions. Hence, it helps to test the depression entering skill and speed of the candidate.
- CPT:
The students who have applied for various posts of assistants or inspector has to give the test. In this following skills are analyzed of each candidate:
- Word Processing skill and how efficiently he can type the documents in word files.
- Spreadsheet maintenance and all the formulas used on spreadsheets are tested.
- Slide generation test to analyze presentation skills and efficiency of work quality.
Documents Required for Verification:
The student should have to carry the following documents while applying for SSC CGL 2021:
- Matriculation Certificate
- Caste Certificate
- 3 years graduation mark sheet
- Coloured passport-sized photographs : 2
- Age Relaxation Certificate (if applicable)
- NOC if you are already working in any government office
